SigEp Maine Alpha is different than most fraternities at the University of Maine for a few reasons
1. Balanced Man Program
Instead of the traditional pledging process that many fraternities use, SigEp promotes a holistic approach to personal development. The Balanced Man Program focuses on intellectual, physical, and personal development throughout a member's entire collegiate experience, rather than just during the pledging period.
2. We participate in 365 recruitment
We are always seeking well-rounded men to recruit and welcome to our chapter as brothers
3. We do not rush
At Maine Alpha, we do not have a rush process and there is No Hazing. Once someone receives a bid and decides to join, they are treated as a brother and receive all the privileges that a brother who has been in the chapter for 2 years has.
4. We are a SLC chapter
Also known as a SigEp Learning Community we seek to create an environment surrounding the development of... enhancing academic success, leadership education, ethical behavior, and the practical application of knowledge beyond the classroom
In 1901, twelve men decided the status quo was not good enough and set out to make a change for the better. Their changes resulted in the birth of Sigma Phi Epsilon.
